Horseshoe Canyon Badland Basin Viewpoint

 

This file shows the damage that has been

caused by tourists while climbing up to a popular viewpoint.

 

From the south viewpoint, you see this view of the badland basin.  The west leg is in the background.

From the south viewpoint, with the help of a zoom lens, you can see
the damaged viewpoint hill where I took the 370 degreee panoramic photos. The west leg of the canyon is left of center, in the background.

This photo looks up towards the top of the cone shapped formation. You can see how the loosened dirt has piled up into a ridge at the bottom.

As you look down from the top, you can see how the badland formation has been worn away by people climbing up.
